As I sit here writing this newsletter I am in jury duty in NYC. Surrounded by so many people, it is very clear to me that in order to achieve spiritual, emotional and physical health, it is crucial to have ways to protect yourself from the “Emotional Vampires” (my friend Dr. Judith Orloff speaks about this in her book) that can suck your energy dry.
We all know the people and situations that literally drain us of our ability to focus and feel good. Energy is contagious. Think of a time that you walked into a room and everyone was in a state of fear and panic. Suddenly without even being aware of it, you start to feel anxious. On the other hand, you may enter a Vision Workshop and suddenly find yourself feeling happy and hopeful!
There are many ways to create a field of protection, and in this newsletter I will give you a few suggestions that I use myself.
- Each morning I use my shower as a ritual of purification. I literally call on the power of the water to release, consume, cause and effect of anything I am holding on to consciously or unconsciously that is anything else but perfection. I imagine the water cleansing and purifying me. Then when I get out of the shower I do one of the following:
- Call on my Guardian Angel to surround me with an electronic shield to allow in only good and positive energy.
- Visualize in my mind a large rose surrounding me that will absorb negative and toxic energies.
- Visualize a protective shield of gold mesh that surrounds me and will allow in only energy that is aligned with my I AM PRESENCE – prosperity, love, health and success.
I spray my SPACE SPRAY around my apartment and office in the morning and when I come home at night. And, I also spray it between clients. Even though they may not have consciously brought in anything negative, I like to do an extra clearing in case they leave energy that does not belong to me.
If I feel like I need an extra boost, I take a bath with Epsom salt (or sea salt) and white roses. This is the super-charged energy cleanse that we all need at least once a month.
Remember, we are in the Mercury Retrograde period. Back up everything and pay more attention than you usually do when traveling, communicating or generally making plans. This is a great time to go inward and see what needs to be reworked or re-imagined.
